We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Ifthe NRS pay regard to the law the 1921 Scottish Census will never be published, but I expect like the TNA they will ignore the law and publish the census as soon as they can.

Re: FamilySearch Trees

I would recommend you do so without worrying, each family history center is slightly different as each is funded by the LDS church members in that particular stake. No matter which centers you visit they will help you with any questions you have, in the same way as a librarian will help you in any U...

Re: Unpublished Parish Registers

Don't forget the very useful, but old, booklet titled "Report on the Transcription and Publication of Parish Registers, &c. This includes 1. Parish Registers printed as seperate works. 2. Parish Registers printed in other works. 3. Original Registers and Bishops' Transcripts in the British ...

Re: FamilySearch Trees

Familysearch was one of the original sites where an individual could upload/create and online family tree. It is still possible to do this today rather than add to the Family Search Family Tree, look under Genealogies - https://www.familysearch.org/search/genealogies

Re: 1921 census records cheaper

Possibly because the 1921 is less likely to be used as much by many researchers than earlier census, for a variaty of reasons and such offers may entice such reseachers to view some more of what they deem to be "less important records", rather than leaving them until they become free or ot...

Re: Amended death certificate

If there was cause to suspect the person had died due to the intentional actions of another the death would not be registered until after the inquest. For example my father-in-law (who had an existing heart problem) was assulted by a man and died shortly after. His death certificate states he died 1...

Re: Insecticides at TNA

Disgusting isn't it they should have destroyed the records instead of spraying them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously these days there is very little cause for concern as chemicals such as DDT are only harmful when they build up in the body, the exposure risk these days is very small, unlike in t...

Re: WDYTYA Spoilers

I disagree, I feel it gives people information to allow them to make an informed choice to watch what may be interesting programmes rather than the drivel often broadcast by TV companies including the BBC. Surely giving a person's name in connection with a series that delves into family histories sh...
