We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Sources and citations

Thanks, having spent lockdown getting my Tree back into order after the chaos I created previously I have become a little OCD!! After thinking through the problem, if I really want to add the full works, I can just print it on the back of each record that I download print to add to my paper collecti...

Re: Sources and citations

With my Ancestry tree I can obviously automatically add the correct records I find on the website, and with them you can see the source and citation. Any info I add from my own records I mark "cert held", newspaper details, FMp etc I am getting lost in how much of the S&C info I actually need to add...

Sources and citations

I am trying to find a less cumbersome way of adding these to my pencil and paper Tree. Any suggestions please? At the moment they seem to be taking over!

Re: Edward Jopling/Jobling 1828-1892

Re: Edward Jopling/Jobling 1828-1892

I have now heard from one of the stalwarts on the NE Forum who suggested I contact Durham Records Office regarding COMPA records. I never considered he may have be insured and therefore applied for/ was granted/ or denied compensation

Re: Edward Jopling/Jobling 1828-1892

Thanks jonwarrn

It looks as though the records are held at Tyne and Wear Archives. I will drop them a line........and why didn't I think of that? My ability to think outside the box has waned.

Re: Edward Jopling/Jobling 1828-1892

Thanks vallmo I had looked at this web page before, and I have re looked now, and found nothing. I am not sure whether the accident happened at the pithead or at the delivery end which I presume was the docks. Hence my post on NE Forum (which so far is unanswered). I thought perhaps there may be loc...

Thank you
Yes I have visited the Dining Museum website which is excellent.
I have also googled variations of Railway/ mining/ accidents/1860s and Edwards name and searched newspapers on FMP.
I have just popped a message on the NE Forum in the hope that something maybe available locally.
