We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: How to stop head-banging?

Hi Norfolk Nan Our match was only 8.5cM, which normally makes me run a mile! We did, however, have lots of shared matches, all of them larger than our actual match eg 45cM, 174cM. Illegitimacy and adoption was involved, but eventually her match to me was via through a sister and brother my 3rd, her ...

Norfolk Nan wrote That's interesting, what made you think the father's name might be wrong? Was it very off?[/quote The Father's name was transcribed as Joseph. It was the only baptism with that Father at that time and was not a name we reecognised from the village. We were looking for baptisms with...

Hello and welcome to the Forum

I am not an expert. The men's suits look 1930s. Remember the UK would still be in a period of relative austerity after the Crash, although by no means as bad as the USA, and it is possible that Sunday best was a few years old!!

Re: Occasional Copy:A

Forgot to post!! I finally receved an answer to my second email to the GRO. It was virtually identical to the first one, but written by a manager this time, again saying they could do nothing unless I produced the GRO ref for the original entry.  Anything else was bound by confidentiali...
