We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Another Murray

Do you have the address where Eliza's first daughter was born in 1853?
NOTE: Paradise Place and Elder Walk were near each other at the time.

Re: Another Murray

...but that suggests, I think(?), that the Thomas Murray+Jane Susannah Parsons couple aren't the pair in the 1841 census. That marriage took place in 1826 and that Thomas was a widower. Yes, I think we can safely say that is a different Murray family (the one with Jane Susannah Parsons). You can ru...

Re: Another Murray

Using jonwarrn's latest settlement record(s) find this could be the Ealing marriage for Thomas & Jane:

10 March 1805 - Ealing
Thomas MURREY & Jane POWNEY
Jas SIMMONDS & Sarah POWNEY (looks like the Powney sisters married on the same day)

Re: Another Murray

Where is James in 1851? Have you located him yet?
Also, who are his wife's parents? Where is Eliza in 1841 and 1851? When did she hook up with James?

Re: Another Murray

Where is James Murray in the 1851 census? Has his surname been transcribed incorrectly? Another thing to bear in mind is that James' parents might not have been married when he was born/baptised c1833. As such, James may have been baptised under his mother's name (whatever surname that might be). Al...

Below is the Ancestry UK list for London parish records which may be useful to you, particularly the Earliest Date column. Not all Islington records on Ancestry are from the pre-1837 era. Norfolk Nan wrote: 27 Nov 2023, 15:18 James Murray, who began all this confusion, doesn't have a birth certificate or a baptism. DoB is c1833 in Islington according to all documentation I have for him.
His baptism record may not be online. Aren't Islington parish records with the LMA?

Re: JFK

On the morning of 28 January 1986 the Principal of the school I worked at announced the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster over the school intercom system. He requested 3 minutes of silence. It was all quite surreal and so tragic.

Re: JFK

On 22 Nov 1963 my mum and 7-year-old brother were in a bakery shop to buy him a birthday cake. When the JFK news came on the radio in the bakery they closed shop immediately. No birthday cake for my brother that year.

Re: Another Murray

With jonwarnn's workhouse find above, does this mean we have two different Murray families? The Murry family in Shoreditch/Spitafields, and the one in Islington in 1841? The ages of the Islington family in 1841 are different to the Shoreditch family. And wife Jane Susannah had left that family years...
