We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Another Murray
No addresses but the hearing was in Clerkenwell. That's it - nothing more to go on. Thanks for looking

Re: Another Murray
No, not sure of any of it - a whole pile of facts that involve a Thomas in similar areas that could be him but the births and marriages happen before civil reg and don't provide any more than I've mentioned. I can't find a baptism for James. I have several possible baptisms for a Thomas. The 1828 in...

Re: Another Murray
Nothing has come up for Thomas and Jane aside from a legal matter in 1828 and I haven't pinpointed Jane's early history or what happened after Thomas died. No occupation or address (OTP) for Thomas at time of marriage, witnesses included a Frances Murray - haven't pinpointed her either! Plenty of cl...

Re: Another Murray
If he is the same chap, Thomas, wife Jane and sons William and James are living in 97 Cliffords Buildings off Elder Walk in 1841. I've lost sight of Jane and it is possible that a William, living in Elder Walk in 1851 is also there in 1861 - he's single so nothing to pin him to Thomas. James is else...

Another Murray
Forgive me for bringing another Murray to your attention but I would really appreciate fresh eyes on this one: I have an 1843 death certificate for a Thomas Murray, aged 60,a brickmaker of 13 Elder Walk, Islington reported by Sarah Hannah Murray of 6 Elder Walk, present at the death. She doesn't exp...

Re: Mary Ann Keating
In my defence I looked through over 60 workhouse docs for Henry Keating and didn't see those three docs and I looked twice! Eliza died in 1891. James was in Stamford Hill in 1891, no idea for 1901, yes with Caroline in 110 Alexander Road in 1911. It seems William Keating died september quarter, 1896...

Re: Mary Ann Keating
I think the penny has dropped. Caroline is half-sister, not aunt. Now I need to adjust my tree again!
Thank you again

Re: Mary Ann Keating
The Murray parents are James Murray b 1833 in Islington and Eliza Summerfield b1829 in Islington. The couple moved around the north London area, probably in search of work because James is recorded doing a range of different jobs but basically labouring. I've got them through the census and Mary doe...

Mary Ann Keating
This is a real conundrum and any help will be gratefully recieved. Mary Keating is the mother of Henry Keating of the service card. Mary died in 1902 so Henry nominated his aunt, Caroline Lee nee Murray as his next of kin. Caroline had a sister, Mary Ann Murray born 1856 so I assumed this was Henry'...

Re: WW1 service record questions
Sorry, MIA. I couldn't access the Canadian records so have only just discovered the Lee/Murray connection from a third party. Thanks for finding the birth registration, Mo. I haven't had time to look since uncovering the Murray connection. It is a shame the link wasn't with the Lees, they remain my ...
