We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: What is his Occupation?

The census reference is Piece 2556 Folio 67 Page 62 - Patrick O'Brien.

In 1861 he is a Mason's labourer (at least I think this is the same chap). In 1864 he is a Butcher (Journeyman), this is definitely the same chap. In 1881 he is a Pork Butcher.

Thanks for any guidance.

Re: Jane Hollisey (nee Read) born c1829, missing from 1861 census

Was she mistranscriberd as "Holloway"? I did a search on her address in 1871 on FMP by address and a Jane Holloway age 30 is at 16 Park Square with Mary A Holloway aged 2. The birthplace, however, is given as Milverton. You are correct, she was at 16 Park Square in 1871 and on 1 Dec 1874 ...

Jane Hollisey (nee Read) born c1829, missing from 1861 census

Jane Read was baptized at Langport on 1 Mar 1829. She married James Hollisey in Bristol on 18 Sep 1851, she stayed in Bristol until her death on 26 Apr 1879. I have her on the 1841, 1851 and 1871 census but not the 1861. Her daughter Alice Lavinia Hollisey was born in central Bristol in Dec 1851. A ...

Not yet, but FMP gives their catalogue/reference number so it should be easy to find.

Thank you both for your help.

Bastardy – Quarter Sessions

Re: Can you date this photo please?

Unfortunately, I don't know who they are. I was hoping that a date might narrow down who they could be.

The back of the photo says A E Stanley 92 East Street, Bedminster, Bristol, I know that the photographer had a studio at this address between 1906 and 1933.

It has been suggested that it could have been taken c1912, what do others think?
