We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: DNA matches

I took the Ancestry DNA test which I then uploaded to My Heritage because of all the "tools" they have available, and I have found it very useful. In my case my 5th GGparents are the same in 3 of my parents 4 lines, both Mum's and one of Dad's. It throws up some skewed results and I have t...

Re: GRO (England & Wales) Digital Images

Thanks for the tip. For the first time I purchased a dozen digital copies last week, of those 3 were badly digitised so that parts of the data was missing. I complained to the GRO and was promptly given a refund. They couldn't do anything about the quality, so I have had to spend £7 for pdfs. Maybe ...

Re: JFK

April 20th 2016, my last radiotherapy treatment. My husband and I left the hospital with big smiles on our faces. Into the car, switched on the radio and the first thing we heard was that Victoria Wood had died. Happiness turned to sadness in the blink of an eye.

Re: Mary Ann Keating

Who were Caroline's parents and what was her Father's profession?

Have you found her in the early census records with her parents or parent?

Re: Merchant seamen/RNVR records WW2

Quick update, I visited TNA yesterday. ADM267/126 - Various reports and Battle reports, yielded nothing about the accident in October, in fact the last entry in the record was dated September 1940. There was a mention of Heliopolis but it referred to an incident in July 1940, when George would also ...

Re: Sarah Parmiter died Rome 1906

Hello Everyone I have looked through the suggestions posted here and drawn a blank. I am going to put this brick wall aside again for the moment until my contact returns and can hopefully narrow down the research field for me, and return to the query I was originally working on. Thanks for all the i...

Re: Sarah Parmiter died Rome 1906

Hi Mo and as always thank you. I have been checking the links you kindly sent me but it will take time to check thoroughly. I have asked the question re the Monastery, but my contact is leaving for India today and I may have to wait until she returns at the beginning of December for an answer. I ten...
