Well done on your findings. At least you have a connection to the Vigor family. Have you checked bastardy records? There may not be anything seeing as the family were well off.
Re the missing will, I have several attorney ancestors who either left no will or no updated one.
We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: 1818 Will - John Vigor
If there any other wills you need help with, don't hesitate to ask. I quite enjoy deciphering the old documents. Except for one property transfer I have that not only was in court hand, but also Latin.

Well done. Is that the same Frances as the one named in Fortune Little's will perhaps?

Re: 1818 Will - John Vigor
Fortune Little's will is dated 1777. In it, she mentions "kinsman" Robert Vigor, who apparently had two wives named Sarah. Fortune veru kindly names them, the late Sarah nee Hall, and the now wife Sarah nee Powell. She slso names "cousin" Frances Vigor, and "cousin" Joh...

Re: 1818 Will - John Vigor
Just finished wading through John's will. A lot of "legalese", lol. James and William Tucker seem to be responsible for a lot of the property on behalf of the children, implying young age perhaps? Fortune Little's will 27th May 1770? Proved in the PCC apparently. Could Joseph be a son from...

Re: Yeoman farmers - family connection?
Being a comon name as you say, makes it less likely. However the only way to know for sure is to trace the yeoman family. Situations like that were common.

Have you looked at the original images of the Davis baptisms? Could there be a small "n" after Davis? I have seen names abbreviated in some church records before.

Re: Bedminster parish records
Would the BT's be on familysearch? They may have digitised them, and be available to search on their site. I have been lucky enough to view some Devon parishes this way.

Re: What else do you do?
That's very interesting, Guy. The article I read didn't mention the sweetmeats or the medicinal aspect. "Well respected tradesman for the upper classes" helps explain the amount of money and property he left in his will.
