Thomas a Cooper, his wife Maria (born 1845 in Backwell, Somerset) and son Richard (born 1866 in Bedminster, Bristol) as far as I can see are all missing from the 1871 census. Any help locating them will be gratefully received, thank you.

There's a Thomas W Stevens (age 31), wife Harriet (age 26), and son Richard (age 5) living in All Saints Poplar, London. Thomas is a cooper, and the birthplaces are a match, as well. There's a lodger named Henry Notting (age 26) with them. He's also from Bristol, and is a cooper.

Thanks, that looks really promising. Ages and birth places are all spot on, just her name that is incorrect. Guess it could have been an error when the enumerator transcribed the householders form.
