We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Tonight's first part of a two part programme was I thought was very good (My Family, the Holocaust and Me). The story about The Netherlands and their part in the Holocaust was not just down to the Nazis but to members of the Dutch Civil Service and Dutch Railways who rounded up Jewish people and transported them after Dutch Railways being paid by the Nazis, actions for which the Dutch Government have apologised and Dutch Railways have set up a fund, albeit a very limited one and very late in the day. At the time in 1940 the Dutch Civil Service were told by the Dutch Government that when the Germans invaded to help keep the country together but instead, in my view, aided and abetted the Nazis in their plans. This programme and others shows in my view the need for the Nazi Persecution Claims files in series FO 950 at The National Archives to be fully opened, as far as possible, which they aren't, even if we could get there to access them.
