Stepney, east London
Stepney, east London
Does anyone remembering being told at Primary School to cross your 't's on letters such as Stepney and not to write them as 'Slepney', there are 185 cases in the ancestry database and for once it is not ancestry's fault but the writer's!.

Re: Stepney, east London
It should read ‘it is not necessary, nor good english’
Not only is it not necessary, it is wrong! An exclamation mark ends a sentence and actually contains a full stop! (Same as a question mark)

You went to the best primary school, Mick
Re: Stepney, east London
Don't you mean instances (not cases)? I'm amused that someone has the wherewithal to count records displaying unconventional/faulty grammar on Ancestry. And can I add that the exclamation mark loses it's subtlety when frequently overused.
