Although TNA have said on their 'Discovery' catalogue that thousands of files have been 'released' including many Second World War Army service records researchers should take that with a pinch of salt. Some will have been held back (some definitely should, as they are about victims of recent crimes). Alas TNA have not learnt any lessons as they still refuse to release the names of other people whose files are open (e..g. FO 950 compensation for victims of Nazi oppression).
