I'm the first to complain about bad service so I want to praise the very prompt work by Buckinghamshire Archives. I emailed an enquiry and got an answer within 24 hours. As a result I emailed a request for a copy of a document and got the same back within three hours. Very impressive. I've never used them before but am encouraged to do so in the future.

To add to my earlier post, Wandsworth Heritage Service in London have gone way beyond need or expectation in answering a question this week. Another quick and helpful service. I can't help thinking that we should be making more effort to use these smaller resources or risk losing them.
