One of my distant grandfathers, was the Reverend Hopkins Fox, born in Nackington, Kent.

Doing a google search, a link to geni.com popped up, suggesting he was son of Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland. I thought wow, I’m linked to the ariristocracy

Unfortunately Hopkins baptism in Nackington, contradicts this, as it shows he was son of Hopkins Fox and his wife Mary (Falke), proving information on Geni.com is wrong!

WARNING like all other on-line trees, treat Geni.com with suspicion, and don’t take everything on there as fact!

Quite right, researchers need to go to the original sources. There are various books like 'Who Was Who' which list the descendants of the aristocracy.
