There has been a major privacy breach at GEDmatch, the third-party genetic genealogy website which has become well known in the last two years because of its use by law enforcement agencies in the US to solve cold cases

Their Facebook site was updated today, it says it'll be down for another 2-3 days.

Today on Facebook:
UPDATE: We expect the GEDmatch site to be back online by Saturday, July 25 at the latest.
I had an e-mail yesterday explaining the problem and assuring me that my DNA is held in a separate place, and was not accessed.
It also mentioned that some MyHeritage users had received scam e-mails as a result.
EDIT: site is back up now (1600 GMT Sat 25/07). Looks OK.
